Evening Lecture – The total CO2 cost of nuclear energy: A comparison from different perspectives

In this lecture, the total CO2 cost of nuclear energy is first discussed on the basis of a comparison of three studies from organizations with different views on nuclear energy. These values are then put into perspective through a comparison to other sources of energy for electricity production. The lecture will finally address the challenges and transitions expected in the energy sector, specifically in Western Europe. The lecture provides a global view of the energy sector and remains accessible to a broad public with limited technical knowledge. Specific or technical issues may, however, pop-up during the discussion time foreseen after the lecture.
