Evening Lecture – The hydrogen economy and the role of nuclear energy, including current fleet and SMRs

The presentation will describe the current hydrogen industry with the main production technologies and applications, and the future hydrogen economy that is key to support the transition to a carbon-neutral economy. Then a focus will be made on the possibilities offered by nuclear energy for the production of hydrogen both using existing nuclear and hydrogen technologies and new technologies like Small Modular Reactors and thermochemical hydrogen production technologies. Recent developments and projects on this topic will be highlighted.
